If you’re on Instagram, chances are you’ve heard of Getaway. Basically a really aesthetic glamping experience, Getaway offers an escape from busy city life (or, just life) in the form of a tiny house in the great outdoors, with all the modern essentials of our everyday lives but with cool features to emphasize Escape like a cell phone lock-box. With locations located one-two hours outside major American cities like New York, Boston, and Los Angeles, Getaway has become a popular destination among busy millennials.
Tomorrow, my mom and I will be making the trek to Getaway’s Beaver Creek outpost, located between Pittsburgh, PA and Cleveland, OH, with our dog Tess along for the ride of course. Though neither of us have typical 9-5 jobs, my mom’s busiest season as a small-business owner is summer, and with classes starting back up for me in a couple days, we thought it was the perfect time to finally see what all the hype is about.
Between spending some quality time creating art with my mom and wandering the wilderness with my all-too-adventurous Australian shepherd, I’m hoping to read:
