Hey there! I’m Hannah, an avid reader with a serious passion for words. I’ve devoured books for as long as I can remember, with my love for the written word only growing since childhood. As an English major, bookseller, and publishing intern, you could say that I struggle to find time for pleasure-reading… but when I do manage to finish a book that’s not for class (or work), you can guarantee that I’ll want to share my thoughts on it here!
My favorite kinds of books are first-person narratives with memorable characters, literary prose, unpredictable plots, and incredible ambiance. I love sprawling, multi-generational family sagas and books that follow multiple perspectives across a long period of time. A handful of favorites include: Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng, A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne, The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer, Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney, Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders, and Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. Most often, you can catch me reading this year’s awards longlistees, short story collections from my favorite authors, buzzy and enlightening nonfiction, or the latest book club pick from Reese Witherspoon or Belletrist.
Hannah and Her Books was established October 11, 2017 as my reading journal, a casual place to share my thoughts on the books I’ve read and want to read. All links provided on the site are for convenience only; they are not affiliate links.
